Good Hope Seminary High School

Good Hope Seminary High was established in 1873 through the efforts of well-known churchmen. Situated at the foot of Table Mountain, only a few blocks from the parliament buildings in Cape Town, we are one of the oldest all girls schools in South Africa. We know each girl individually, making it possible to foster relationships deemed necessary for realising their unique potential.

From its inception, Good Hope Seminary High has developed a proud tradition of striving steadfastly towards the highest ideals and achieving well, living up to their school motto “Constantia et Virtute” (with courage and perseverance).

Good Hope Seminary High is committed to enabling each individual to reach her full potential in a caring, non-threatening, non-discriminatory environment; to develop in each child a positive set of values; to promote tolerance and respect for others and to encourage self-discipline and independent thought.
